Qualifying for the November 3, 2026 election in St. Charles Parish closed on August 7. Across the parish offices on the ballot, most drew only one candidate. Those races are already decided, and no votes will need to be cast to settle them.

All eight seats on the St. Charles Parish School Board were up this year. Six of the eight drew a single candidate and are therefore already elected. Those winners are Aleshia Smith in District 1, an open seat; incumbent Ray Gregson in District 2; incumbent Scott Cody, the board president, in District 3; incumbent Karen Boudreaux, the board vice president, in District 4; incumbent Becky Weber in District 6; and Mitzi Faucheux in District 7, an open seat. Two seats remain contested. District 5 will be decided between Tommy Scott and Deborah Smith for an open seat, and District 8 will be decided between Daniel Burst and Joel Picolo for an open seat.

Four sitting school board members did not qualify for re-election this year: Ellis A. Alexander of District 1, John L. Smith of District 5, Art Aucoin of District 7, and Alex L. Suffrin of District 8.

Fourteen seats for justice of the peace and constable were also on the ballot. Only four drew more than one candidate. Justice of the Peace District 3 will be decided between Stephanie Gubert and Webb Jay IV; the sitting justice, Edward Hymel III, did not qualify. Justice of the Peace District 4 will be decided between Hunter McDonald and Rachelle M. Tregle; the sitting justice, Darrell P. Chiasson, did not qualify. Justice of the Peace District 5 will be decided between Andrea Adams and Faye Cockrham; the sitting justice, Kellie Fox, did not qualify. Constable District 1 will be decided between incumbent Rose LeGaux and David Schilling.

Four other justice of the peace and constable seats change hands with no contest at all. Rosemarie Young will take Justice of the Peace District 2 after the sitting justice, Zack Young, qualified and then withdrew. Daniel Dugas will take Justice of the Peace District 7. Melissa Manning Perrier will take Constable District 3, and Maria Cazenave will take Constable District 7.

District Attorney Joel T. Chaisson II qualified unopposed and will return for another six year term without a contest. He was also elected unopposed in 2020.

All three judges of the 29th Judicial District Court were unopposed for re-election: Chief Judge Rochelle Champagne Fahrig, Judge Connie M. Aucoin, and Judge Lauren Davey Rogers.
