The chairman noted that the two Eastern Greenbelt Park sale ordinances (2026-0162 and 2026-0163) may be deferred at the June 1 hearing depending on public attendance.

  • Barton Avenue Corridor Bicycle and Pedestrian Feasibility Study (“Stage Zero”): Still in early evaluation, with a final draft expected by the end of 2026. Public meetings and formation of a project management team with parish representation are planned; residents should watch for opportunities to weigh in on proposed corridor changes.
  • Public Works administrative consolidation: The Parish President said the parish is negotiating to acquire property near the Courthouse to relocate wastewater administration staff, with the ultimate goal of moving core Public Works administration into the former Family Dollar building. No firm timeline was given, as a prior purchase offer was rejected by the property owner; the goal is to acquire replacement property before the end of 2026.
