The Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Courthouse in Hahnville to consider final passage of the following ordinances:

  • An ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981, to change the zoning classification from C-2 to R-2 on Lots 1A and 2A, Square B, St. Rose Subdivision, St. Rose Avenue, St. Rose, as requested by Malcolm Darensbourg for M.A.D. III, LLC.
  • An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with Linfield, Hunter & Junius, Inc., to perform engineering services for the New Sarpy CN Culvert Crossings (Project No. P250301), in an amount not to exceed $692,052.00.
  • An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Contract with Barriere Construction Co., L.L.C. for Road Maintenance 2024-25 (Project No. P220501), in the amount of $2,723,256.00.

Other items residents may want to follow include the planned new Hahnville library branch, where a construction manager-at-risk is expected to be selected in mid-April and brought before the Library Board and then the Parish Council around May. The library's new makerspace at the West Regional Library is still being set up, with an opening targeted for summer. The Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month proclamation was not accepted in person and will be mailed. Residents were also reminded of two upcoming community events: a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on April 5 at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, and the 17th Annual Trash Bash cleanup on April 12, with online registration open through April 4.
