St. Charles Parish Informer · Meeting coverage · 6:00 PM · Council Chambers, Courthouse
Meeting Summary
The St. Charles Parish Council's February 24 meeting opened with a lengthy run of Mardi Gras season proclamations and recognitions, honoring the Krewe of Lul and Krewe of Des Allemands royalty, several community nonprofits, and a resident's 100th birthday, before turning to routine parish business. The council approved a series of public-works contracts and change orders for pump stations, drainage, and road projects, and took action on five zoning petitions, approving three, denying a Norco commercial rezoning, and splitting on a contested industrial rezoning request in Paradis. The council also formally introduced a large slate of new ordinances, including several zoning changes and infrastructure contracts, for a public hearing next month.
